Associate Professor
Professor Kindap has a long history of experience in atmospheric modeling and research, along with use of numerical models to a wide range of applications including high-resolution weather forecasting, regional climate, long-range pollutant transport, nuclear emergency response, and urban air quality studies. Dr Tayfun Kindap got his PhD in Earth System Science, Climate and Marine Sciences, at Eurasia Institute of Earth Sciences, ITU. He was a Visiting Scientist at University of California, Davis and Georgia Institute of Technology for two years working on regional air quality modeling. He worked for a year as a postdoctoral researcher on atmospheric modeling at RUTGERS University. Dr. Kindap is currently an Associate Professor at ITU and his main research interests are the interactions between physical climate and atmospheric chemistry.
